If you're attempting to publish your Showit site but are getting an error when attempting to do so, check out the troubleshooting tips below.

Here are some of the most common publish issues we see:
Publishing Errors for Blog Subscriptions
If you see this message when you try to publish your site, chances are your site is not publishing correctly and you may not see recent changes or edits on your live site.
If you Click here for more info it will display an error message. Below are the different error messages and how to troubleshoot what went wrong and your best options for fixing it!
This Blog is Missing a Template Error
While this won't necessarily give your Showit site a publishing error, you may be wondering why your blog isn't publishing to your live site. When you try to go to your live blog, you will instead receive an error message that looks like this:
Solution: Add a Post List (Default) Template
In order for your blog to publish correctly, you must have the WordPress Template called "Post List (Default)" set on your Blog Template called Blog. All of the designs in the free Showit Library have a page called "Blog" that is already set to function as a Post List page. If you need to add a Post List page, you can add a blog page from one of those!
If you are trying to set a blog template on a page you can do so by clicking on the blog template in the left side Site Panel and then choosing the "Template Info" tab in the right side properties panel to choose an option from the WordPress Template setting.
After you have a blog page set with this Template, try publishing your site again!
Still Seeing the Error?
If you have a Post List (Default) page set in your Blog Templates section, and you're still seeing the same error when publishing, reach out to Showit support by clicking on the chat icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Blog Login Error
While this error is less common, there are many reasons why you might see this.
Solution: Check DNS Records
Check your DNS records in your Showit account settings.

Still Seeing the Error?
If your DNS records and your SSL are set correctly and you're still seeing the same error when publishing, reach out to Showit support by clicking on the chat icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
No Error + Not Seeing Changes on Your Live Site
If you have a published and you didn't receive a blog publishing error, but you're still not seeing updates on your live site, there are a few ways to troubleshoot.
Solution: Check Blog Domain in Site Settings
This is another vital piece of the Showit x Wordpress connection. Your domain must be selected under the blog tab in the Site Settings for a Showit site with a blog subscription to publish any changes or edits to the live site.
In the Site tab on the left, click Site Settings and then select the Blog tab. Make sure your domain is selected. If it is set to none, click edit and select your blog domain.
Still Seeing the Error?
If you are still not seeing any changes reflect on your live site, your might be experiencing a caching issue. You can find out how to clear your cache in this article here.
Publishing Errors for Non-Blog Subscriptions
If you do not have a blog subscription and you are experiencing publishing errors, there is a chance that your browser is cached and is preventing you from seeing changes on your live site. As always, feel free to reach out to Showit support for any questions or issues you might be having!
