Showit subscribers with either a Basic or Advanced Blog Subscription will have the ability to add a search bar to their Showit site. Your search bar will use your Blog (Post List) Template to display your search results by default, but you can also create a Search Template with a unique design specifically for your search results.

Creating a Search Template

To create a search template, first duplicate your Blog (Post List) template. You can do this by clicking on the three dots to the right of your Blog template and choosing Duplicate from the drop down menu that appears.

Rename this new template to Search and set the WordPress Template to Search.

This new Search Template will use your In Post Loop/Next Post Start WordPress Canvas types to display your search results.

Customize Your Search Template

Once this new template has been set up you can customize the layout/design of this template to your liking. Finally, make sure to publish from within the Showit Design App once your Search Template has been created and customized so that it will be used on your live site.

Note: You must have a Search Bar in order for the Search Template to be used on your live site.
