Every element that you add to your pages within Showit, whether it's a text, shapes, icons, images, galleries etc., all have styling settings that you can adjust to give them a unique look.
Additional Styling Options for Elements
The styling options for any element can be found in the Style tab when the element is selected. The Style tab will be unique to each element (i.e. Shape Style, Line Style, Button Style, etc.)
At the bottom of the Style tab, click the button that says + Customize to add a new customize the element's opacity, blur, drop shadow and border radius.
Note: Some tabs may be named differently depending on the selected element. For example, the styling options for an image can be found under the "Image" tab, as there is no "Image Style" tab.
Opacity
You can adjust an elements opacity, or transparency, in the effects tab. Any object can have it's opacity adjusted independently between Desktop and Mobile design using Split/Merge.
Blur
Blur can be applied to blur the elements themselves, lowering contrast and creating a blur effect.
Drop Shadow
Most objects support an Outer Shadow. Some objects like Images and Shapes also support an Inner Shadow. For more details see on our article on Drop Shadows.
Border Radius (Corner Rounding)
Rounding corners can add a fun dynamic to a design, especially if you try adjusting each corner separately. We have some great presets to help get you started.
Straight - The default setting for straight corners.
Round - Adjustable by a pixel value with options for adjusting each corners separately. We offer some presets.
Ellipse - Apply a full rounding on the object. Square shapes will have a perfect circle appearance.
You can also adjust individual corners to create a custom shape:
Split Merge Your Settings
If you would like to customize the effects of an element on your mobile and desktop design independently of each other, you can do so with Split/Merge. Simply click on the element in your design, then click on the Effects tab in the right side Properties Panel. Then, hover over the setting that you would like to split and click on the three dots that appear to the right. In the drop down menu that appears, choose to Split Mobile & Desktop.
Once you have split your mobile and desktop settings, you will be able to click the mobile/desktop icon option to choose to customize your effects independently between your mobile and desktop designs. You can merge these settings again by clicking on the same three dots and choosing to merge using either your Mobile or Desktop settings.
