Whether you're adding links to your menus or designing an awesome CTA to draw in leads, nothing says "Click Here" quite like a good old fashioned button.
You can create beautiful default button styles for quick and easy use across all of your pages, and even convert shapes and text directly into the preset button styles that you have designed. Here's how to get your Showit site set up with some shiny new buttons.
Create Button Styles
You can create default button styles in your Design Settings that will be used whenever a new button is added to your one of your canvases.
To create your default button styles, go to your Design Settings and click on the Buttons tab.
Here you can set the style for a Primary and Secondary button, both of which can be added anywhere in your site.
Primary/Secondary
You can create two different default styles for your buttons, one Primary and one Secondary. Once you add one of these default buttons to your page you can make adjustments to it as you see fit.
Normal/Hover
There are two different sets of style settings for your buttons, Normal and Hover.
The Normal settings are for how the button will appear on your page. The Hover settings will change how your button appears when you hover your mouse over it.
Additional Customization Options
Your button style comes with a few default settings that you can customize in the Design Settings, but if you would like to add further customization to your button styles, you can do so by clicking on the + Customize option at the bottom of the settings. Choose which additional setting you would like to add.
If you want to remove one of the additional settings, you can do so by clicking on the three dots to the right of the setting, then choose to Remove Customization.
Note: You cannot remove the default settings from button styling in your Design Settings.
Add a Button to Your Page
To add a button to your page, make sure you have selected the canvas that you would like to add a button to, then hover over the element icon in the Bottom Toolbar.
Customize Your Button
If you would like to customize your new button from the default styles you set in your Design Settings, you can make changes that will be unique to that button.
To do this, click on a button on your canvas, then click on the Button Style tab and then click the + Customize option. There you'll be able to add choose from a drop down of options to customize your button.
Convert Text/Shapes to Buttons
You can convert text/shape combinations that were made to look like buttons into buttons!
To do this, first find the elements that make up the text/shape button in the left side Site Panel. Then hold the Command key (or Control for PC) and click on the text, then the shape behind it to group both elements.
Note: If you can't find the elements in the Site Panel elements list, you can also group them by holding the Command key (or Control on PC) and clicking on the elements themselves on your canvas.
Once these elements have been grouped together you should see an option at the top of the right side Properties Panel that says Convert to Button. Selecting this will take the selected elements and convert them into a button using the default button styles that you have set in your Design Settings.
