Many of our users have asked how they can get a tiled style gallery within their blog posts that is similar to Showit's built in Tiled Gallery. Here are some steps for how you can get a similar feeling gallery through WordPress.
Note: This requires the free WordPress plugin Modula to be active.
Create a Tiled Gallery with Modula
To create a tiled style gallery within your blog posts, we recommend using the Modula plugin. This plugin is automatically available to Showit users with Basic Blog subscription.
Installing Modula
In order to create a tiled gallery for your blog posts, you will need to download the free WordPress plugin, Modula.
Basic Starter Blogs are pre-loaded with this plugin. Just click to activate the plugin.
Advanced Blog subscription users will need to add this plugin. You'll want to click on the Plugin tab and choose Add New. Then, search for Modula. Click Install and then Activate.
Making a Tiled Gallery
Once you have ensured that the Modula plugin is active on your WordPress you are ready to start creating your galleries.
To get started, hover over the Modula tab in the left side panel of WordPress and then select Galleries from the options that appear.
This page will display any Modula galleries that you have already made, and will allow you to make new galleries by clicking on the Add New button.
Name Your Gallery and Add Photos
From this window you will be prompted to add a title to your gallery and add photos to it.
Select any photos that you would like to add to this gallery and then click Add to Gallery in the bottom right corner.
Customizing Your Gallery
After you had added photos to your gallery, you will be able to fine-tune the settings of this gallery by scrolling down to the Settings section underneath your images.
Once you have designed your gallery, scroll back up and save your gallery by clicking on the blue Save Gallery button in the top right.
Add a Modula Gallery to a Blog Post
To add a Modula gallery to a blog post first click to edit the post that you would like to add it to. Then, click on the + icon to add a new block. Select the Modula Gallery option (if it isn't available, search for Modula)
Once the Modula block has been added to your post, click to Search for a gallery and select the gallery that you have created.
Enjoy your new tiled gallery for your blog posts!
