Getting a domain for your website just got easier. You can purchase a domain from Ionos within your Showit account. And the best part is - the first year is FREE. Here's how you can get started with Ionos.
How to Purchase a Domain With Ionos
Sign in to your Showit account at https://account.showit.com and you will be taken to your account dashboard. There in the right side of your dashboard you will see a section where you can either get a new domain for your site or connect an existing domain that you already own.
Note: If you do not see this option in your account it is because you already have a domain associated with your account.
Click on the black + Get a Domain button to get started with Ionos. This will open a new view where you can search and find domain names that are available for purchase.
Note: Purchasing a domain in this way will give you your first year of owning this domain for free.
Once you have found and purchased a new domain, you will be taken to this screen. Click the grey Finish button to continue to configure your domain.
Connect & Configure Your Domain
Now that you have purchased a domain you will need to connect it to one of your site designs. You can do this within the Design App by going into the design that you would like to attach your domain to and clicking on the Connect Your Domain text in the top left of the app.
The next few steps will differ depending on whether or not you have a blog subscription with Showit.
No Blog Subscription
If you do not have a blog subscription with Showit, you can connect your domain in this way and your DNS should already be configured, and you're ready to publish!

Basic & Advanced Blog Subscription
If you do have a Basic or Advanced blog subscription with Showit, you will need to request a blog set up or migration. You can find more details on how to do that here:
Once our blog team has had the chance to complete your set up or migration request, you are ready to connect your DNS.
This will take you back to your account where you'll see the option to Configure DNS. Choose this option to configure your DNS automatically.
You will sign in to your Ionos account where you can allow Entri to make changes to your DNS records to point your domain to your Showit site.
Once your domain is connected to a design in your Design App and your DNS have been configured, all that's left to do is publish!
Note: After configuring your DNS records, they may take some time to propagate. This process can take up to 24-48 hours. You can find more information about DNS propagation here:
